DREIER ONE OF THE 40 MOST VULNERABLE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
26th District seat makes the Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee's target list
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Congressman David Dreier (R-CA) was listed among the nation's 40 most vulnerable members of Congress. The list, put out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, takes into consideration the incumbent's job performance, approval ratings and the strength of the challenging candidate. Last week Dreier gave $500,000 in cash directly to the Republican Party, leaving some to question how serious he is about running for re-election.
"I'm excited that the DCCC views me as the leading Democratic candidate in this race and believes, as I do that David Dreier's failure to deliver for his constituents has made him one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country," said Russ Warner, Democratic candidate running to replace Dreier.
"After 27 years in Congress, David Dreier has grown out of touch with the concerns and needs of people in the 26th District. Dreier has shown a greater commitment to Republican leaders than he has to children who need health insurance or families hit by the sub-prime mortgage crisis," continued Warner.
Warner, a successful small businessman, has lived in the district for 27 years. He is committed to making America energy independent, honoring our soldiers and veterans, and ending the war in Iraq.
"It's time the people in the 26th district had a representative who answered to them - not the Washington lobbyists and party bosses," Warner said. "The people of the 26th district see what David Dreier's priorities are and they are ready for a change."
